 Nothing a good firm pillow can't doNov 17, 2009
I've always been very flexible, but since entering my 40's (and getting lost) I've experienced several back episodes. Chiropractic services have helped (mildly and for a short while) so I got this in-house rememdy based on reviews. Pro's: It's a quality product, robust, and appears that it will last with repeated use. Con's; So would a nice firm pillow. Don't get me wrong, I use it, especially after long days in the office. But all it does is apply a hyper-arch through the lumbar curve into the thoracic curve. It doesn't perform any magic function such as "stretch" the spine; indeed it causes posterior compression of lumbar disks when used as instructed. What it does do is serve as a firm base to relax the erector spinea (back muscles), whereupon an individual can exercise some limited hip and upper back manipulations familiar to anyone who's been to a chiropratic office. So go ahead and buy the product; I'm not mad that I did.

This product doesn't really stretch the back. It does hold the back in place. It is strong and works well even in a chair. I also place it on the wall while standing and use it to put pressure on my lower back. The pain is terrible when I stand, so I'm always searching for something that works when I'm upright.
Only specific exercises will truly help severe lower back pain. This device will give temporary relief, if that.

I've only used the lumbar stretched a couple of times, but I can definitely feel the stretch. I'm a little afraid of it so I have not reclined on it for any real length of time. It was suggested to me by a friend who knows that I have back disc issues. He didn't feel that it would help him. It was a fairly inexpensive purchase so I felt that I had nothing to lose by getting it. It sits on my living room floor so I don't forget about it. I think it can be a good thing.

My back has never felt better! You have to play around with it to find just the position that feels the best for your back! The feeling is addictive! Haven't had a back ache since I started using this stretcher! Love It!
