Black & Decker Cup-at-a-timeNov 13, 2009 I am 79 years old and am up a lot at night so this Cup-at-a-time coffee maker is perfect for me. It makes great tasting coffee and the automatic shut off means I don't have to worry about a fire.
Great, with 3 flawsOct 29, 2009 I am very happy with this coffeemaker, and am able to make my one cup of coffee a day. I use natural colored #1 filters, and that makes cleanup simple. I have 3 complaints, but am happy overall.
1. The dripper continues to drip once the coffee is finished. It drips after you take the cup out (no matter how long the cup is left there) and then it even drips after I take out the used filter to throw away. So, trying to keep away the coffee stains is not really possible, and it makes this a bit messy.
2. You have to fill you coffee cup with water and then pour into the tank. It is almost impossible to do this without spilling a little water down the side of the cup, which leaves you with a wet counter. Also, leaves a little remnant water in the cup.
3. It does not fit any cup taller than the normal cup size. Sometimes I would prefer a slightly larger cup, but it will not fit the cup under the dripper, and it will not hold enough water to fill it up.
Disappointing.....Oct 27, 2009 The on/off switch broke five months after I purchased this product - bought it in May 2009; switch malfunctioned in September 2009. I only make one cup of coffee a day, so it wasn't a matter of over-use. Prior to this, I'd been very satisfied, but now I feel like I've thrown money down a hole.
Good for one short cup of coffeeOct 22, 2009 I broke my roommate's glass craft for an older coffee maker, so I brought her this to replace it. She's needs her one cup of coffee every morning, and she has found that this little machine does the trick. The only thing I can say (I don't use it) is that some of the taller coffee mugs won't fit under the dispenser, so be aware. But otherwise, it has been a great little machine.
GREAT LITTLE COFFEE MAKEROct 17, 2009 I purchased it and want to tell you, IT'S GREAT!!! love the no fuss, no mess and the great automatic shut off is a very nice feature... i followed the advice of another reviewer and add a little filter into the little filter to keep the coffee fresh... LOVE THIS LITTLE ITEM... PRICE IS GREAT TOO... CAN'T BEAT IT... I USE A WHITE CUP AND IT LOOKS VERY NICE ON THE KITCHEN COUNTER...
