Not as messy as people say . . . so farMar 17, 2010 When I first looked at this grinder I was hesitant because of all of the reviews saying it was messy and the customer photos of the grounds container wasting a lot of coffee. I decided to purchase it regardless because it seemed to be of solid build and had good reviews on other sites around the net.
Well, I got it home yesterday and have ground a couple batches of coffee and it hasn't wasted a single crumb yet. Maybe I have been lucky but the problem so far seems to have been over exagerated or corrected by the manufacturer since those reviews were made.
The top burr on mine has a rubber seal on it that I don't see in the pictures on here. I wonder if this was added recently to help funnel the grounds where they need to go and prevent them from traveling where they shouldn't. Also I noticed that the top burr is keyed so it can be inserted into 3 positions when lifted and rotated. On mine, one position is a snugger fit than the other two which might also reduce the clearances and keep the grounds at bay.
In any case, I am very happy with the grinder and how NOT MESSY it is. Hopefully this will continue for the life of the product. If anything changes with my experience, I will be sure to update this review so I don't mislead anyone.

Capresso Coffee GrinderMar 08, 2010 I really like this grinder because it is sturdy and has various settings that allow you to select how course or fine you want to grind your coffee beans. I have had other grinders in the past and they did not stand up to the grinding process where this one does and then some. It is easy to maintain and clean. I think that anyone who purchases this for household use will be satisfied with it's operation.

Much better than blade grindersMar 06, 2010 The Capresso Infinity Conical Burr grinder is a huge step up from the inexpensive blade type coffee grinders. The blade grinders actually finely chop coffee beans, whereas a burr grinder truly does grind the beans rather than chop, giving a much better grind that is more conducive to coffee brewing. You can choose a variety of grinds, 16 settings from extra fine to extra coarse. We found setting 6 or 7, slightly on the fine side, to be the best for a traditional drip coffee maker. Choose a lower (finer) setting for espresso, or coarser for french press. This burr grinder works great, seems durable, and produces a superior cup of coffee. The only minor drawback is the ground coffee does tend to get stuck in the chamber and you need to give it a few taps to get the ground coffee out thoroughly.

First Home Burr Grinder I've LikedMar 04, 2010 Every coffee grinder we have had has either been extremely loud, extremely messy, or usually, both. This grinder is amazingly quiet. It produces a very consistent coffee grind, and it manages to do it without making a mess out of the counter around it. In fact, the unit itself rarely needs cleaning. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great burr grinder for their home.

failed during warranty period - no replacementMar 04, 2010 The grinder stopped working about 10 months after I purchased it. The support staff told me that I should send it back at their expense; they sent me a prepaid shipping label. In the meantime I put the grinder in a box, the label arrived, I placed it in the box and forgot about it. Five months later I found the box and shipped it to them. Since it was now outside the warranty I was told that there would be a $60 charge to have it fixed. I was not willing to spend that much more money to fix a product that didn't last even a year. So now I have no grinder.
I would expect the grinder to work for more than a year. It was only used to grind coffee for a single person, so I don't think that's what would be considered heavy use of the product. It just didn't last.
