2Cuisinart Costiomer ServiceOct 20, 2009
As long as you don't need customer service, you will be OK. Cusinart has possibly the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I burned out a motor on my DLC-2011BC (apparently a common problem). I was told I needed to send the unit back for warranty service as the motor is warranted for 10 years. I sent it back the next day. Six weeks later I finally received a letter stating that the repairs would cost $46 (apparently for shipping and labor). I contacted them to find out why a warrnted repair, which per the warranty would be completed free of charge to the consumer, costs $46. They said they would get back to me in three days with an answer. Two weeks later, no repsonse. I called back and spoke to another individual and a supervisor both of which were were of totally no assistance. Here it is nine weeks after I sent my unit to Cuisinart and I am no closer to getting the warranty work completed than I was then. If you have a Cuisinart product and it breaks under the warranty period, just throw it away!!!!

4Almost too powerfulOct 07, 2009
This product works very well. I've ground pork in it a few times. Used it to make a number of different dishes. No problems so far.

4replacement for a worn out CuisinartOct 03, 2009
The reason I got this model was to replace a worn out Cuisinart food processor. I am a heavy user of food processors and have been very satisfied with Cuisinart from the 1970's to date. My last Cuisinart was from Williams Sonoma with a heavy cast base and heavier motor. The bowl and blades wore out.W-S doesn't replace parts. I purchased this model only for the bowl and blades that fit perfectly with the W-S base which is in great shape. It is cheaper to purchase a new food processor than to replace parts. Now I have a replacement base should my current motor stop working. Cuisinart is not a green company. One should be able to get replacement parts more cheaply than buying a new unit. Not so.

4My first food processorOct 02, 2009
This being my first food processor I honestly didn't know what to expect. I relied on Consumer Reports for guidance and bought what I thought was the best choice for my intended uses for this kitchen appliance. Upon removing the Cuisinart from it's box I quickly realized that this thing is solid. Firm heavy base filled with the promise of a strong motor completely sealed for messy cooks like me which makes for easy quick clean up. First use was in making french bread. This was the easiest french bread I've ever made. It's my new toy so to speak so I've got plenty of dishes awaiting it's ample bowl. This being my first FP, my only surprise so far is the realization that there is a liquid line only about two inches above the bottom of the bowl which makes this large bowl useless for blending liquids. So far I'm 9/10ths satisfied with my purchase.

5For a budding chefSep 23, 2009
This was purchased for my daughter, who hopes to train as a chef. The item arrived quickly. She has had it for just a month. She is thrilled with her "Cuise" and has been reproducing items she's made while apprenticing with a local chef. She said no written instructions came with the food processor, just a DVD which she was not inclined to watch. She was uncertain what parts, if any, could be put in the dishwasher. We were able to find a product guide on-line to answer her questions, but, Cuisinart, if you're watching, it should be included with the device.
