The way it really was.Nov 02, 2008 Forget the Godfather, Wiseguy or any of the Hollywood versions of the mob. This movies comes closer to getting the Mafia right then any other. No mansions, no Mamai Vice style pool parites and car chases. They were guys in the nieghborhood willing to go that extra step to make the money and get ahead. This moive is as accurate as can be and none of the names are changed.
Good Gangster MovieSep 20, 2008 Robert De Niro is one of my favorite actors and I especially like him in anything criminal. He's so cool in this movie. It's an excellent DVD whether or not you like De Niro.
Fantastic movie, crummy DVDAug 08, 2008 This particular item is, unfortunately, one of those early DVDs that you have to flip over halfway through the movie, which is the pits. I thought I did my research thoroughly enough to avoid that, because I was certainly aware that this annoying product was out there, and I really wanted to avoid it.
But no such luck. My advice--look very carefully before you buy to make sure you get a good quality MODERN DVD. It turned viewing one of my favorite movies into an irritating exercise.

One of the better gangster moviesApr 06, 2008 Goodfellas is one of the best of its genre. Based on facts, it is violent and graphic, with excellent acting throughout. At times, the storyline becomes muddled with too many characters, but it's still entertaining. Definitely NOT for children; the language is excessively (and unnecessarily) obscene.
