This patent-pending technology delivers a cone with more surface area than competing models of the same size. The result is increased bass output and higher efficiency. True Four Ohms
All Reference speakers feature two ohm voice coils. Original factory-installed speaker wiring in many cars is 18-22 gauge. This wire, and heating in the voice coil when power is applied, increase the impedance "seen" by the amplifier or head unit. The impedance of Reference Speakers has been adjusted to compensate for this increase and can be safely driven by any head unit. Edge-Driven Textile Dome Tweeters
These are not commonly used w-domes, but fully edge-driven domes--like those found in better home audio speakers. The benefit is increased power handling and reduced distortion at high output levels. This technology also allows for better integration with the mid/woofer. Unipivot

My OEM front speakers in my 2004 Colorado were blown (one anyway). I priced the OEM speakers at about $40 / set. For $10 more I was able to get these Infinitys. These seem to have a deeper base than the OEMs as well as improved treble. I have to say also that I can get more volume from these than I did the OEMs. Mounting was a bit difficult. Took about 1-1/2 hours to change them over. Down side was wiring. Would have been nice if they offered a wiring adapter kit to hook to the existing wiring. The speakers came with a mounting adapter kit that was cumbersome to install. I scrapped the whole kit and screwed them right to the opening in the door. I am pleased with the sound for the price. Enough so that I am thinking about replacing the rear seat speakers as well.

These speakers live up to the hype. When people get in my car now they say your high's are really nice. I put these speakers in my VW GTI VR6. I also have 2 12" inch speakers and they match the bass of those speakers just right if you tune them right.

I was looking for a good value in replacment speakers for my Mitsubishi Spyder. The Infinty speakers already in the car were getting worn anddidn't seem to have the response they once did. These fit perfectly and came with all the mounting hardware I needed. The difference is amazing - I got these at Amazon for a great price so this turned out to be a Great Value. I sttongly recommend looking at these before making any final decision!

Infinity has an excellent reputation, but I was a somewhat nervous given a few of the negative reviews. Even the negative reviews usually tempered their criticism by exclaimint how clear and precise the mid range and highs were. The bass seemed to receive the most criticism. I can tell you from my standpoint that I agree that these speakers have excellent mids and highs, but I was also relieved that these speakers had excellent bass response, as well.
At the very reasonable price these speakers are being offered, I give them 5 stars. To get better speakers you would likely have to spend significantly more money. The sound is very crisp and the bass is more than adequate... unless you're looking for your woofers to shake the windows of nearby vehicles.
Finally, I wanted to mention that the installation kit comes with numerous self tapping screws and clips as well as a metal installation bracket and a plastic installation bracket. The kit even includes self-sticking foam that you can place around the bracket in order to reduce potential vibration. Everything fit very well in my Saturn SC.
I would definitely recommend these speakers, especially to replace a no-name factory 6.5 inch front door speaker.

I recently wanted to replace my stock speakers and have found that these have great reviews, great price, and great reputation (as far as brand goes). So i picked up two sets of these bad boys.
I have a few things to say here. First off, they are 2ohm speakers, most head units are stable at 4-8 ohms so plan on running power to them with a 2ohm amp or a 2ohm stable head unit.If you fail to do so you will fry the internal amp built in your head unit and will experience "clipping" (system shuts down @ moderately high volumes). If you are running off your 2ohm head unit, the bass is not worth mentioning. I am running 45w x 4 @ 2ohms from an external amp and these puppies are LOUD! After my install i wanted to test out the full affect and justify my purchase and labor efforts so I drove down interstate 35W @ 65mph with both windows down and could hear every detail.
I was on the road for about 25mins and shortly after got in a accident. It is really messing with my conscience, was it a coincidence that i rear ended somebody on the first day i was rocking out to my new system?; OR is it that these speakers are so darn loud (good thing :)) you have to be extra careful, which should always be the case when driving with such high volumes.
Do not get me wrong i am not blaming the speakers, i just want to let you know these speakers are great and really can capture your attention if you are a speaker enthuisiast and listen for key details.
People that compare the price to best-buy are not making fair comparisons. Best-buy comes with free install and warrants their work as well as replaces anything they break. If you have never done an install before, i would advise doing research, getting the right tools, and allow 6-7 hours (amp + speaker install.)
Reason for four stars?
I do not know why they mentioned that BS about them being stable with any head unit. I have a 4-8ohm head unit, and when i had two speakers running they would shut off at a decent volume. When i had just one installed to the head unit for testing purposes i experienced a whistling-ringing sound at a high volume, this is probably due to being under-powered, so i would advise get a 2-ohm amp or head unit to these!
