Kagome Higurashi, an average ninth grader, gets pulled into an ancient well by a demon, bringing her 500 years in the past to the feudal era. There, she meets Inuyasha, a half-demon who seeks the Shikon Jewel to make himself a full-fledged demon. With Inuyasha and new friends, Kagome's search for the Jewel of Four Souls begins...

I'm so glad I bought it!Jan 08, 2009 I'm so glad I bought the Inuyasha First Season Box Set. Having seen a few episodes online I just couldn't wait to get my hands on it - and I even got my younger brother, who normally has very different tastes from mine, hooked on Inuyasha too. The artwork is beautiful, with an elegant simplicity which constantly amazes me with how well the character's emotions are communicated to the audience. The soundtrack is also pretty good, and the plot gave this aussie a very enjoyable introduction to some of the elements of Japanese folklore.
Best of all, it IS an English dub. Normally I'm quite happy to watch an anime in Japanese (with the subtitles of course) but I really can't stand the sound of Kappei Yamaguchi's voice - but with this dvd I can listen to Richard Ian Cox instead, so it's all good. No offence Mr Yamaguchi!!
The First Season Box Set contains episodes 1 through to 27, all stored in a very compact, attractive little box. If you're an anime fan, I would highly recommend this series to you as money well spent -_^

The anime that wont dieNov 30, 2008 I'll keep this really short. Always hated the show until recently. Started watching it, realized how shallow and derivative it is and still enjoy it. But the asking price is absolutely absurd. Watch it for free online.
You Never Know Your Favorite Japanese Anime Until You Watch A SeriesSep 28, 2008 Yes, I got this little secret, my body & head aches from doing artwork & sculpting all day and sometimes it is hard to sleep. Also, I am constantly looking for new & different inspiration for my artwork to please my new clients(they are all into Japanese anime, Japanese Manga, & Dollfies.) So, one night I watch the beginning of Inuyasha Season 1, and I was "hooked." Inuyasha is not only entertaining, I've come to love the series & characters, and I love to look at the artwork, especially scenic treatments, that the characters & story run though. Now, I own up to Season 5, and I have been satisfied.
Amazing DvD Set, Buy Now!Aug 21, 2008 I got my daughter this last christmas. She immediately opened it and popped it in the Dvd player. She was hooked! She watched the whole season in 2-3 days. The music was very nice and original, the actual show was pretty good. Cute, but as a mom I wouldn't watch this. She loves this set and takes very good care of it. If you have a daughter or son (13+) who likes action and a good plot, this is for them. Carefull though, it does say the 'd' word.
