The flatware looked very attractive online and in the box. It was also great during the first few uses, now it's iffy. Considering that it was supposed to be stainless with 18/10 steel to keep it looking great and allow it maintain the finish through the dishwasher, it's a disappointment to me. After a month or so of use and washing it started to show signs of rust and less than mirror finish.
I can buff it a little as it comes out of the dishwasher but since I never had to do that with my old, cheap flatware I resent new more expensive flatware that doesn't live up to the promise.
It also would have been nice if it came with more teaspoons, or had loose additions available.
On the positive side I like the feel and heft of the flatware, the style and appearance (from a distance) on the table.

After seeing this Bellasera set at Macy's, I ordered two sets from Amazon to replace my 20+ year old set of Reed & Barton flatware. (I loved my R&B set, but the finish was failing after so many years of use.) I am very happy with the quality of the Bellasera -- it has a good weight (not too heavy and not too light) and a comfortable fit.
Other 18/10 SS sets I liked would have cost at least $800 for a set of 16, so I'm very happy to have paid less than $120 for the same number of pieces. I'm not sure if this set would last 20+ years, but I'm pretty sure I'll have it for many years.

After 15 years of marriage, the flatware I brought to the marriage was falling apart. So, I decided to buy new flatware. The flatware I REALLY love is about $500 for 4 place settings. I still have kids, who tend not to take care of our things. So I looked around for a less expensive alternative. This set is perfect! For the price, you get 8 5-piece place settings, plus 5 serving pieces(butter knife, meat fork, serving spoons)! I ordered 2 sets, so I have service for 16, and it cost me about $160.00! The pieces are beautiful. They are simply styled, and go with my dishes. I think that this flatware would also go well with a variety of other styles, such as modern, Tuscan, eclectic, transitional, southwestern, etc. They are very versatile. I do not have a problem with the weight of this flatware. I was actually surprised how heavy it was, for the price. A lot of low-priced flatware is as light as plastic flatware! This flatware also washes beautifully in the dishwasher. The 1st few times I washed it, it streaked, and I was concerned, because the streaking looked bad. But, that has stopped now, and they come out of the dishwasher shiny and clear! I recommend this flatware to anyone looking for attractive and functional flatware for a good price. I only wish, there was a matching cake server.

I just received my Bellasera today and I am VERY pleased with this flatware. The design is absolutely sleek and feels wonderful in the hand. The standing knife design gave the set the edge that made me purchase it and it did not disappoint. All the pieces are lovely, but the knife obviously stands out as the best.
For anyone concerned about other reviews saying these pieces are lightweight, this is my comment: The knife is certainly not lightweight. It is a hefty, but well balanced piece. The other pieces are decidedly lighter weight than SOME other flatware, but they are very strong. (I would not hesitate to scoop hard ice cream with one of the spoons, for instance.) They are not *hefty* per se, but still have the feel of quality. Also, beware as you shop, because I have been shopping around and I have seen some junky, clunky stuff out there that costs more per piece than this set at Amazon. I would rather have the quality of Bellasera than the clunky, rough-edged 18/zero Oneida Calm (a nice pattern, but poor quality in the hand and low corrosion resistance).
This set is a fabulous buy at $59.99 and as soon as it is in my budget, I will be purchasing another and Bellasera will likely be my flatware until I die. I'm sure it will last that long and, even if I change my dinnerware, the design of Bellasera is timeless and will always suit my basic personal taste for simplicity, beauty and function.

J.A. Henckels 45pc Bellasera Flatware Set
This flatware is weighty, and somewhat larger than typical American-style flatware. The finish is quite shiny. It comes with lots of care instructions which I may or may not follow. For example, it is recommended that you use the Drying setting on the dishwasher instead of letting the flatware air dry. This setting uses more electricity, but for now I'm using it. I really am not interested in giving my daily flatware extra special attention.
Overall, we are pleased with this purchase. The price was much lower than in our department store. We purchased the set to replace our 40 year old wedding flatware.
