Krups KB720 1,000-Watt 5-Speed Blender with 60-Ounce Glass Jar

This product is currently out of stock
Description:

New from Krups, the KB720 blender. The Krups Motor Technik is a unique electronic motor control system that provides constant power and speed whatever the load, ensuring consistent, professional results and allowing intensive heavy-duty use. Unloaded, most kitchen machines have high rotation speed. When a blender is loaded with ingredients, the rpm level drops dramatically, decreasing the rotation speed and effecting performance results. Thanks to the Krups Motor Technik, the motor remains at a constant speed whatever the load. The Krups Motor Technik also means controlled rpm's, which means much less noise. Most blenders are more than twice as loud as the KB720. With 1,000 watts of power, the 60-ounce-capacity blender has 5 speeds; ice-crushing and pulse functions; a heavy-duty die-cast metal base for stability and durability; an easily removable cap with 1- and 2-ounce measure marks; a bi-injected waterproof locking lid for clean preparation; and an illuminated, intuitive, easy-to-see and easy-to-use touchpad control panel. Graphite grey and brushed stainless steel, the blender comes with a full-color recipe book with more than 50 recipes.

5-speed blender with ice-crushing function and pulse at any speed

Powerful yet quiet 1,000-watt motor; illuminated touch-pad control panel

60-ounce glass jar with locking lid and removable measuring cap

5WORK HORSEOct 18, 2009
We have used this blender 5 days a week for 3 full years. We use it every weekday to blend up our smoothie in the AM. We use frozen fruit (including strawberries), protein powder, juice, vitamins etc...

This blender always mixes our smoothies perfectly in fact it is easy to over blend them if you let it go too long. One key, like with all other blenders, you must use enough liquid. Also with large frozen fruit like strawberries it is good to use the "ice crush" setting at the beginning to get everything nice and chopped up.

After three years of working hard it is time to replace the blade and seal. Nice thing is the parts only cost $10 total. Love it and highly recommend this product.

5Works great for green smoothiesSep 22, 2009
After reading the various reviews, I opted for this blender rather than the more pricey VitaMix. When I first used it, I was quite disappointed, the smoothies remain gritty to chunky. Then I learned that I was putting in way too many veggies to juice/water. Now, I start with the slow button, move up through to speed 4 where I let it run for 45 seconds. The result, tasty, SMOOTH, smoothies.

This is definitely a viable alternative to VitaMix for those of us with limited budgets. It is also very easy to clean, I use my kitchen sink sprayer to clean it out and put the glass container (without base) in the dishwasher a couple times a week (or whenever I include yogurt in my smoothies).

1Spend your money elsewhereSep 14, 2009
I purchased my blender two years ago, and use it on average twice a month to make smoothies. I use fresh and canned fruits with a little ice, and so I consider myself a moderate user. I bought into the durability of the 1000w motor power since the motors from the last blenders burned out with the same usage. Well, my blender stopped working yesterday. To say the least I was disappointed since I expect the machine to last more than 48 uses. The next day I call Krups customer service to explain the situation, and despite the circumstance they state the unit is out of warranty and I would have to pay out of pocket for its repair. I think given that this blender cost $150 at the time of purchase I deserve a little satisfaction. Definitely not worth the money, and customer satisfaction even worse.

1Should be recalled for bottom dropping offSep 12, 2009
The extreme opposite reviews on this blender are an indication of poor quality control in its manufacturing. The people with problems aren't idiots who don't know how to lock the bottom on or push the right buttons on the blender...they have a crappy blender like I got. This is a simple blender to assemble and use, and it baffles me why some people who are writing positive reviews are so arrogant as to suggest that people who have problems simply don't know how to use the blender correctly.

It's simple: The bottom comes loose and falls off. Sixty ounces of whatever you were blending spilled and splattered all over your counter, floor, cabinets, or inside your refrigerator.

And yes, mine gives off a strong smell when it runs, like they used some lubrication that stinks when it gets warm from the rotation. Maybe I just don't push the right buttons to avoid this ?

As far as the power, I've had blenders with half the wattage that were more powerful. The 1000 Watt rating on this blender is the motor power consumption, and with a poor design, this does not necessarily translate to more powerful blending.

Krups should stick to making coffee machines, as their engineers had great ideas but not the practical experience in designing blenders that work well. This blender should be recalled.

5pleased so farAug 23, 2009
I use it every am and so far is working well- crushes ice and other frozen things - very quiet compared to any of the other blenders - was worth the price for me as I have gone thru several blenders.
