AN INSULT TO THE CLASSIC ICONS 3.25 OUT OF 10Jan 02, 2009 I don't think this game is as bad as a lot of critics said it was, but it's still a rather awful and inept failure of a game. This game does not do a good job of representing the license it uses, but I will say at least this game is slightly better than the atrocious Looney Tunes Back In Action game I previously played on PS2, but remember the key words; "only slightly better." Do you know what's funny? This game is such a failure, it fails in four separate categories! It fails as a Looney Tunes product. It fails as a licensed game. It fails as a platformer. And it fails as an action title. Wow! What an accomplishment of failure! Screwing up in four categories!
WHAT THE GAME IS: The story is about a mad scientist who builds a time machine to go back and destroy the Looney Tunes characters and prevent their existence, so the Looney Tunes gang steals blue prints and build their own time machine and go on a crappy adventure to prevent the mad scientist from destroying their existence. The story gets so convoluted and stupid, it's actually insult to the classic icons right there, even they would frown upon the hackjob storyline. I'm not asking for a serious storyline, just one that's funny and fits the Looney Tunes vibe. The game is a mix of platforming, beat 'em up gameplay, and third-person shooting action. Yes, this game tries to be a third-person shooter, though the PS2 has a helluva lot more options if you're an action junkie. Fun fact: Did you know the game's developer; Red Tribe; is the same developer behind one of the worst reviewed games of all time? The game they made was Jumper: Griffin's Story, so I hope that's enough to make you stay away from this game.
GRAPHICS: Wow, developer Red Tribe really dropped the ball in this area. I've seen games from the very early stages of the life of PS2 that looked way better than this, hell I've seen some PSone games that have looked better. The environments are loaded with glitches and terrible pop-up problems, and are rather uninspired. Did no one bother to check for bugs in the environments? Because some areas have objects that aren't even touching the ground. The textures in the environments are absolutely atrocious. I know the PS2 has problem giving games good textures, but I know it can do much better than this (As evidenced by Final Fantasy XII and Resident Evil 4). There are times where the character you're playing as will jump then get stuck on an object and be unable to move. I've even seen problems where the enemies will have the same problems. Speaking of enemies, the designs for them are generic and very boring, and usually they only vary in color or outfit differences; meaning they hardly look different outside of being a different color or wearing something else.
MUSIC: The music was generally crappy, but it had some moments, but those moments were rare. Other than those moments, the music is very repetitive and boring. The music doesn't fit the bill for what music for a game based on the Looney Tunes characters should play out like.
SOUND: The sound effects usually sucked and were too quiet. The voice-acting was actually pretty good and the actors actually sounded like the characters they were impersonating. Overall, the sound is a mixed bag.
GAMEPLAY: This is where the entire experience turns into a train wreck. The puzzles in the game felt like reject puzzles that were removed rejects from good games like Ico (PS2) and Super Mario 64 (N64), you know, games that made puzzle-solving fun. For example; pull a lever and the bridge goes down; Ico. Rotating platforms; Super Mario 64. The castle levels and crate smashing were lifted from Resident Evil 4 (PS2, Wii, GC, PC), except Resident Evil 4 was key word; "FUN." The third-person shooting felt like a really crappy version of Advent Rising (Xbox) or Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath (Xbox) or perhaps even Max Payne (PS2, Xbox). Or, since the shooting sucks, I would have to compare it to the Xbox abomination Drake of the 99 Dragons. You get a number of weapons at your disposal, and some of them are fun, like the shotgun or rocket launcher or the gun that fires bear traps, but most of the weapons are awful and are very boring, like the gun that fires a boxing glove and unfortunately the flame-thrower sucks. You get to play as a number of characters through 21 missions of pure hell. You get to play characters such as Bugs, Daffy, Marvin, Wiley Coyote, Taz, and more. These characters really don't play any differently, which is sort of disappointing. The combat involving the character's primary weapon like a club plays out like a cheap, stupid version of Devil May Cry's (PS2, Xbox 360, PS3) slick, stylish sword-fighting/gun combat. The missions usually are the same and go as follows; Beat up the generic robots that plague these lands you venture into, smash tons and tons of crates and barrels all over the place, beat up the giant generic robots and open the gate, pick up gun and shoot the crap out of generic robots, make long precision jumps, and occasionally you'll fight a boss who has very poorly balanced difficulty and can be beaten by simply running around them and tapping the square button when they are near. The Wiley Coyote sequence was different where you get to ride a bike, but that stage was absolute hell, and it was timed! Why was it hell? The pop-up problems rears its ugly head like hell and trucks constantly pop up randomly without warning in front of you. Also, to make matters worse for someone else out there, there is co-op play, so you can trick a friend into playing this pile of garbage with you. I don't know about anyone else who reviewed this game, but there were a number of occasions in which the game crashed on me. This game is brand new for me that I bought and has no scratches (I checked), so if for some reason you buy this wretched title beware of crashing. The gameplay is an utter train wreck to sum it up, and you will want to cry as you play it because of how many more missions you have to go before you finish. Stay far away from this game. It proves to be too simplistic even for average gamers like me, and too frustrating for kids due to the badly balanced difficulty.
THE GOOD: The game has some moments of cool action, but those are very rare, some parts of the music, the voice-acting, some of the weapons and costumes you get.
THE BAD: The rest of the gameplay, the rest of the music, the copying of great games, bad graphics, game crashes, glitches, and more.

Man with a grudgeFeb 28, 2008 The info. you gave me about this game, was very vague and misleading and that is how I ended up with a bad product. Since I have already opened the package, there can not be any refund. However, human compassion is a much greater tool for using toward a customer who was mislead into buying a bad product and needs a refund or merchandise credit.

Fun GameDec 31, 2007 Soo far this game has been fun, though it hasn't been played much. The controls for special moves are a bit much since I bought this for my soon to be 6 yr old. I realize this game wasnt meant for someone that young and I haven't messed with it enough to really see much.

acme not badNov 26, 2007 I own alot of games and different consoles, but this game is just for fun . If the controlls were a little bit better and some of the bugs were worked out this would have been a even better exsperiance, overall if you are a tune head you will have some good old fashion fun.

Acme ArsenalNov 21, 2007 Game was a total disapppointment from the start with graphics, etc. Not worth the money. I played it once and that was it. For warner bros I thought it would have been great, but not.
