Lodging, the confusing wayJul 23, 2007 While the idea of the red book is great, I found it difficult to read and even harder to translate all the various symbols. Somehow the legend misses a lot when it comes to actually understanding the listings. I bought it to take with us on our trip, and after attempting to review the book multiple times, I doubt we will.

It would be better in EnglishJul 17, 2007 I didn't realize the guide was in Italian. Nevertheless, I decided to keep it as the symbols and structure of the book are still easily understood. Plus, written Italian is not so hard to decipher if you know Spanish. I bought the book to learn about the good eats in each of the towns/cities I'm staying in. I like how they list the restaurants and hotels by city alphatetically, so it's easy to find accomodations and memorable meals based on where you're staying. Who would have thought that Bologna does not have any Michelin star rated restaurants and the coastal resort town of Rimini has one!

Michelin is the real-deal: true reviews, no biased opinions!Feb 20, 2007 Michelin is truly the best reference guide for on-the-go travelers. It has always been and doesn't lack in recognition. I have realized that Michelin is not only a great way to find quality accomodations and restaurants, it is also one of the few unbiased guide there is! In other words, their book is not an advertising space. Other guide books are great to find travel information, must-see sites, history, culture, etc., but not the source to find where your next stay will be.
I always have a Michelin guide when I travel, especially if I'm going to the destination for the first time.
BUON VIAGGIO!
