MAKE STANDS FOR THE TWO BIG FRONT SPEAKERSMar 21, 2010 These speakers look and sound great. The two front speakers are large so I chose to build stands to hold them.
All I did was buy 2 Flue liners (2 feet tall hard clay hollow pillars, usually used to line chimneys) from a stone place near my house. I painted them black, and then, using Liquid Nails, glued a glossy black granite tile on top of the Flue Liner. They came out looking great. The Flue liners were only 10 dollars apiece, and the tile was 5 dollars apiece. Then if you count the liquid nails and the paint, both 50 pound stands only cost me 20 dollars to make.
PleasedMar 20, 2010 When I first saw the size of the speakers, I thought to myself that these couldn't possibly replace my old Kenwood speakers that I was using on my old sony 5.1 setup. They weren't even half the size.
But as I was throwing the 7.2 system up, I read the backs and realized that they supported the same wattage and Ohm's that my old speakers do.
After hooking them up, I am impressed. They take up little room and thus I have more space, and they sound just as good as my old system, if not more clear.
My only complants are that you need the second woofer on my system for the bass, so I recomend the purchase of a 7.2 reciever and another SKW-204 woofer to really utilize this system and setup.
Even after that, this system still costs less than most of what is on the market and thus is a good purchase.
Great Speakers for the $$$Mar 04, 2010 The speakers came quickly and they sound great. They are not nearly as bulky as I thought they would be and are therefore not as "room filling" as I feared they might be. Although, you do need to be mindful of there placement. Take measurements before getting them to make sure they will fit.
The sub was a little bit of a question mark as I read some reviews stating there were misleading power specifications by the manufacturer. It appears that it is some what of a "composite" specification for the power rating. All in all the sub delivers much better sound than expected at this price point.
The system as a whole sounds excellent and I would recommend it for anyone shopping for a budget speaker system.

matched up with onkyo receiverJan 25, 2010 unbeleavable sound ,could not ask for more.onkyo is a great system,as for the sub its a coffee table(big sound lows)
happy with speakersJan 15, 2010 I bought these last month to play with pioneer vsx 1019. Overall Im happy with this set for the price. I feel the music sounds good, im sure other speakers probably can sound better but your paying 300 for 7.1 system, so for the price I think it sounds great. If you want higher quality your going to pay more for it... Also i went out and bought speaker wire as the ones that came with it weren't long enough for my room. i also bought banana plugs on [...] for under 20 bucks to plug into back which i would highly recommend, much easier to plug into the back of the receiver. i would recommend this set for the price if your not willing to fork out alot of money.
