Sound great in my 2005 Silverado!Mar 17, 2010 I picked these up to replace the stock junk speakers in my 05 Silverado. These sound much better than the stock speakers. It is a pain to find a good place to mount the xover, but well worth the effort. I put baffles behind the speakers to protect them, and improve the sound. I had to cut the center out of my stock tweeters to mount the new ones in, but that was no problem really. Until I pick up a new amp they are powered directly off of my Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD head unit, and they still sound great. My only complaint would be that Pioneer changed from metal to plastic mounting ears, and during the install one of them split while screwing it in to the door. It still holds, but I don't like that it happened. If it wasn't for this I would have rated them five stars.
Great, Quality Speakers!Dec 05, 2009 These speakers are excellent! No distortion when you really turn it up, and everything is very clear and crisp. I figured it would have a little more bass than what it does, but I'm not complaining. Awesome speakers for a great price!
Car Audio Mag was rightOct 31, 2009 These speakers sound great. The tweeters are not ear bleeding. The tweeters sound awsome. The mids sound awsome. I read gregs comment and frankly I wonder what kind of amp he's using and what's the amps settings maybe he should take it back and have the installers recalibrate them. He mentioned not great lows well DA their mid range speakers thats what the subwoofers are for. Iam using a ROCKFORD FOSGATE Power T400-4 and could not be happier.

I knew better..Sep 14, 2009 I set out to the audio store to buy a JL audio sub, a sub amp, and two sets of Memphis M-class components. The guy at the audio shop talked me into these Pioneer thins. So I decided to give them a try, and he recommended installing only one set, in the front doors. Since I had never heard these I figured I would go this route instead of buying two sets and not enjoying the purchase. His reasoning was that the front two would be enough, as that is where most of the sound comes from anyway. The Memphis speakers are higher in price, if you didnt already know. I explained to him that I was more than willing to pay the little extra for the Memphis components, but he insisted these were better and cost less. He said memphis was good for the money, but that these were a better speaker. There is a paradox there in his reasoning, but like an uneducated idiot I listened. How can one be better, but the more expensive speaker is good for the money? Ha.
So I install these in a 4 dr tundra. The highs have that metallic sound bursting out of them, and are really poppin. They bang out the crashing cymbals with an ear busting squeal, and do little for any other note in any song. The speaker cranks out little mid range and is more of a continuation of the highs, with no lows at all. I guess if someone just wants to hear cymbals and bass drums then I would get these and a sub. I am very disappointed and there is a world of speakers out there that outperform these for near the same cost. The stock tweeters in the dash of my tundra have more audio clarity than these.
