4Works Perfectly with Yellow Dog Linux 6.1Jul 03, 2009
I purchased the Mediaboard Pro recently with the intention of installing Yellow Dog Linux 6.1 on my PS3 and using this as my keyboard and mouse. Some YDL 6.1 instructions indicate that you must manually pair it with the system [in Linux] to get it to work... on my first boot into Yellow Dog Linux on the PS3, the Mediaboard Pro just worked (once Bluetooth loaded) with no configuration.

This keyboard fits the bill perfectly for my needs; it's nice to be able to sit as far away as my dining room and surf the internet on my 60" TV. If I were rating the Mediaboard Pro solely on its Linux usefulness, I would give it five stars, but since it would be better for it to be fully functional in the PS3 XMB (it lacks the "shoulder" and "PS" buttons), I gave it four stars instead.

I read in a few places that users with Ubuntu on their PS3s had trouble getting the Mediaboard Pro to work properly on their systems, so if you're starting from scratch and want to use Linux and this keyboard, go with Yellow Dog. Note that you still must use a USB keyboard and mouse to install YDL.

4Use as remote keyboard for a MacBookJun 26, 2009
I bought this keyboard because I wanted to run my MacBook from across the room while it's hooked up to my HDTV. I selected it over other BlueTooth offerings because it was the only one I saw with a built-in trackpad. For remote work, I didn't want to have a separate trackpad or mouse.

It's perfect for my application except for one factor. It doesn't have an "Option" key or a "Command" key, keys that every Mac uses. Using System Preferences, I was able to map its "Alt" key to "Command" and its Caps Lock key to "Option". I also used System Preferences to make the cursor bigger on the TV screen. This scheme has two faults: I lose the Caps Lock functionality and the internal keyboard is set up in a non-standard way when I disconnect it from the TV. The first fault I can't do anything about. The second is fixed by an AppleScript I wrote which flips all of the settings in Systems Preferences back and forth for the mode in which I'm working.

This keyboard is a battery hog. It advertises 200 hours on a set of batteries, but I'd say that's optimistic. I strongly suggest that you run it off of rechargeables or you'll be going through a lot of disposable AA cells.

4Works fine with a PCJun 10, 2009
For the price, you can't go wrong. Setup was a snap, and the touch pad (if you like that kind of thing) can even let you turn off your bluetooth mouse.

The keys are quite passable - I'm a touchtypest at 80+ wpm when I get going, and the feel is reasonably good. There's a bit more wobble (side to side and top to bottom) than I prefer, but not so bad that it bothers me.

The keyboard housing itself is extremely lightweight, which again is a question of taste. The two AA batteries actually add a considerable percentage of that, which tells you how heavy duty the keyboard itself is.

As I said, though: for the price, this is an excellent buy from a trusted company.

5Forget the PS3, this is a great media PC keyboard.Jun 03, 2009
Having been dissatisfied with several other options for a wireless keyboard/mouse combo for our media PC, I turned to this PS3 keyboard. It works great! I can surf through movies and websites in front of my HDTV with ease and convenience. This is probably the only functional product from Logitech I've seen in 3 years. Maybe someone there got fired, who knows.

5Works with Mac mini, sort ofMay 29, 2009
I bought this keyboard with the intention of using it for both a Mac mini and future PS3 so I can only comment on it's use as a general BT keyboard. I am using the mini as a media center PC so having a BT keyboard with mousepad was essential. The keyboard itself is of normal size and is slight wider than a standard A/V component (e.g. stereo receiver). Like others have said, the quality is good but not great. My keyboard has a slight bow to it where it does not sit flush on a flat surface. Maybe that was by design, who knows. Other than the keyboard, the package includes a manual and batteries, no setup CD but no big deal. I was able to pair it up with the mini for the first time in less than a half minute. The response is great, never any lag. The only thing that makes this keyboard NOT ideal for a mac is the lack of extra function keys other than CTRL and ALT. There are no FN or COMMAND keys. Instead there is a left- and right-click "keys". I guess it makes more sense for a PS3. I was able to reassign the CTRL key to COMMAND and that's good enough for me. I could've assigned the caps lock key if I really needed CTRL. When restarting the mini, there are no pairing issues. It will pair within a couple of seconds of turning the keyboard on. All in all, I am happy with this keyboard and hope to have a similar impression once I get a PS3.
