FUN..Nov 17, 2009 I like this game; it has a fun story line (though it is not really a mystery, the story unfolds itself as it goes along) and the characters look awesome. It is a fun game to pass the time; and the puzzles are fun and somewhat challenging. It is slower paced, but still fun in the same sense. I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys riddle/puzzle games!
Best Game Yet For DS (Fun & Smart!)Nov 02, 2009 My daughter and I played this game for hours on end. This game is an example of how our learning system should be with the technology we have available. "Professor Layton" ties together beautiful animation, an interesting story, and fun educational puzzles to create an enjoyable learning experience. Make no mistake- it's not dreary rote math disguised as a game. It is full of logic puzzles which are very fun to solve.
As far as difficulty, my 9-year-old daughter and I "solved" the complete game in about 12 hours total. We did not hurry. Most of the puzzles are too hard for her, but she enjoyed watching me struggle on them and we shared the "aha!" moment each time we got one right. I think she solved about 20 of the 125 puzzles completely by herself. About 10 of them gave me fits, but I eventually got them.
Best DS game I've ever purchased.
Puzzles galoreOct 26, 2009 This game is full of fun puzzles. The trick is to get the most "picarats" possible to unlock hidden features after the game. Use up hint coins no problem, just try to solve the puzzles on the first try. The puzzles range from pretty easy to super difficult. The difficult ones don't come til later in the game as any good difficulty progression should. The story line in this game is a bit lacking, but it doesn't even matter since the emphasis in on the challenging puzzles. The only reason you would be buying this game if for the puzzles anyway. If you love to challenge yourself and don't get discouraged by some failures get this game!

curiousOct 11, 2009 I was a little disappointed that there was no box or flyer with the game. There was also no way for me to cancel the three names already on the game. But I just saved over the onces there with a new name and I played it out. Most of the puzzles are great, but there are a few I just could not figure out. That is OK, I played again....
