5Best speakerphone I ever hadAug 30, 2008
I was looking for the best speakerphone. This phone, with "true full duplex", is the best. Everyone I talk to on this phone says the quality is excellent. I have not had any of the problems others have had with interference, even though I sit with my cellphone in my pocket just inches from the phone. I have an iPhone which is on the AT&T network. My phone causes noise on the speakers of my computer, but not on this RCA phone.

2The Good, the Bad & the Not-UglyApr 08, 2008
First, this phone is very attractive, offering sleek, clean and modern design with enough of a nod to "old" design features that make it more intuitively operable for traditionalists. It also boasts pretty darned good sound quality, whether one uses the hand set, speaker, or a head set (I use a wired Plantronics). Now for the Bad. In no particular order, here's a list of rants, gripes and shortcomings, many of which are stunning by their omission, given the "newness" of this item: (a) any numbers and names you store in memory do NOT sync with incoming calls so that if the caller is "blocked", or does not have caller ID service, all you'll see on the display is "Unknown Caller" or some other designation; (b) the keypad numbers have NO dedicated key for typographical symbols (e.g., "&", "-", "@", commas, etc.), which makes inputing business names or abbreviations impossible with the limited space provided for entering and storing IDs; (c) the 2-line version is NOT expandable (i.e., RCA does not make a cordless phone that one can add to this one); and (d) your phone service provider must OFFER call message indicator service (as opposed to a "stutter tone") for the Voice Mail lighted buttons to flash if you have received a message (this is at odds with the Owner Manual that provides clear instructions on how to set up the Voice Mail indicator feature without mentioning that its functionality is dependent on the provider's services). So, to paraphrase the old joke: "Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, it's a fine play."

1DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!Apr 04, 2008
Looks good, that's about it. I have had 3 of these phones and they don't work! Terrible sound quality and now with my 3rd one I can't even dial out. I give up! I have returned 2 of them and this 3rd one is in the garbage, I'm done wasting more time on returning them. I am warning you, DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE! 25204RE1-A

1DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!Apr 04, 2008
This phone looks good but does not work at all. I have returned 2 of these phones, and the 3rd one they sent to me doesn't work either! The handset buzzes when you talk into it, the time and date randomly stop working, now I can't dial out. I give up! I am looking for a new phone. After returning 2 of them I have no more time to invest returning the 3rd one and will throw this piece of junk in the garbage! I have avoided RCA products because of past trouble with their TV's, and this phone confirms me NEVER purchasing another RCA product again! DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!

1Not a great phone. It's going back.Mar 26, 2008
This is a well designed, attractive phone with nice features like separate headset and speaker buttons. Unfortunately, as other reviewers have noted, sound quality is only fair to poor. Frankly, I'm surprised that RCA would put its name on such a low quality instrument. I'd gladly pay more for a high quality home office speakerphone, but I haven't yet found one. I do not recommend this phone.
