| | | | Description: | | Our hero enters the frontier, where no one dares enter, to cultivate the unforgiving soil. As time passes, his lonely town of one becomes a town of two, three...until it grows into a town to behold! The town is not the only thing to behold. Among the newcomers are beautiful ladies, who have moved to the town to start a new life. Which one will be our hero’s lucky lady? However, our hero is soon faced with a problem. Creatures of the frontier, many of them hostile towards humans, pose a great threat to the safety of his townsfolk. To find a way to live in peaceful coexistence or perhaps rid of them along with the danger they bring – the decision is up to our hero. From the creators of Harvest Moon and Rune Factory for the DS comes the first installment of Rune Factory for a home console. Developed exclusively for Wii, Rune Factory: Frontier features stunning graphics and takes full advantage of the Wii’s unique controls to fully immerse players in the Rune Factory universe. Rune Factory: Frontier incorporates an open-ended structure that allows players to choose the type of game they wish to experience. Whether it’s growing crops, expanding the town, fighting (or befriending) monsters or even falling in love, the experience is unique to each player. | | | Features: | |
• Use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to do everything from plowing, shaking hands with townsfolk to strengthen relationships. (also compatible with the Classic Controller)
• Open-ended play structure allows for Life Sim gaming, RPG action or a mix of both, however or whenever you want it.
• NPCs come and go and join the game based on player actions. So, be careful to treat them well or they may get upset and leave the town.
• You are responsible the fertility of the land, so, breathe life into the barren wilderness through cultivation and begin a food chain that attracts larger and rarer creatures.
• Explore a floating island in the sky full of wonder and dangers.

A decent gameMar 03, 2010 Rune Factory: Frontier is a decent game, just be sure you're in the mood for excessive farming and dungeon crawling. Some of the controls are a bit aggravating, but it's done to give it a "unique" feel because it's on the Wii, which is standard for most titles on the Wii. All in all its worth the money if a farm-sim rpg is what you're in the mood for.
One of the Best RPGs on WiiFeb 12, 2010 When I was looking for some good RPG games on the Wii, I was attracted by the art design of this game. After I got it, I was totally drawn into its gameplay. Many times, I had to persuade myself to stop the game and go to bed to have at least two-hour sleep before work. There are tons of activities besides of farming. You'll always find new surprises when you just start to feel a little bit tired of the old tasks, and then you'll get excited again for a long time.
I agree with some of the reviewers that there are some control issues and it is hard to get all the tools without a guide at the beginning. But after you past that stage, you will have a lot of fun.
If you like to rush through all your games, this is not a good one for you. But if you can slow down your paces and enjoy the beautiful scenes and interesting everyday activities, this is definitely the one for you.
Lost Sleep!!!!Feb 06, 2010 Well, i just got this game, and........WHERE HAS ALL MY SLEEP GONE!?!? I have to say that this is one of the most addicting games that you will ever play! Tired of farming? Go slay some monsters! Tired of watering plants? Go crawl some dungeons! This game knows when you're tired of playing it too, by giving you something new......right when you think you've had enough! oh, well.....off to slay some monsters......then harvest some pineapples! This game does not dissappoint!! 5/5!!!

Exellent gameDec 29, 2009 Everybody should try this game, it has everything, it's a great game for players that are new to the RPG games and if you are an RPG fan then you wil love it. This one of the best RPG for the Wii and it's like a 100 times better than any harvest moon game.

Love this game!Dec 27, 2009 I love this game so much! This is the only game I didn't know anything about when I bought it. I like the HM games but they get a little boring once you've done everything and all there is left is the farming. In *this* game I can go fight monsters all day long if I want to!
Trying to keep the runeys balanced and stable is time consuming and no fun for me, it's math after all! ;p I've not found the perfect ratios for regions other than my homestead that will allow me to just play while they take care of themselves.
I'm seriously considering just forgetting the runeys and the farming - I've got millions and nothing to buy! - and just spend the rest of my time in the dungeons fighting and capturing monsters.
One thing I find so hilarious is that after I got married I could still ask all the other girls out! I've logged hundreds of hours playing this game and I'm still playing it and really enjoying it. I can't wait for the next version!
