The product arrived in a very reasonable time after placing the order and it has performed better than expected. I have recommend this product to my friends and family.
Great little gadgetMay 21, 2009
I hate peeling potatoes. Absolutely hate it. But I love eating potatoes. This seems like a silly gadget, I know, but we use it all the time. It doesn't remove all pain from peeling potatoes and you will still have to get the "divots" and grooves out by hand so it isn't perfect. I love it though and feel that it is the "best gadget" I have ever purchased. It is so easy to use that my daughter has used it since she was 6 or 7, helping in the kitchen.
Usually kitchen gadgets go unused and just take up space--but if you love potatoes and hate peeling them, you will love this. I have also used it very successfully with apples. I haven't attempted to use it with anything else.

the product sucks. It worked the first 3 seconds of operation, then failed to peel anymore. I feel like I am being extremely generous by rating this item with 1 star.

Cheaply made version of the original peelerDec 01, 2008
I bought the Rotato to replace my old electric peeler that finally died. I needed to peel a large stack of potatoes for Thanksgiving, and thought I had it made when I remembered the Rotato sitting in the pantry, unused since receiving it earlier this year. What I pulled out of the box was a lightweight plastic ghost of the old peeler. The blade could not grab hold of the potato skin, just skipped along making nicks until it reached the bottom and turned itself off. I tried it on dry and wet potatoes. I'm envious of those reviewers who had good luck with their peelers; I could not get mine to work.
