Pretty GoodNov 17, 2009 I think that this game is definitely one of the best RPGs I've played but it is not without its flaws. Mostly i just wish the combat was a bit more accurate.
Controller SensitivityNov 17, 2009 I have beaten this game on the pc, but my computer could never really push the graphics as hard as I wanted. This game is well known for its beauty, so I purchased the PS3 GOTY edition to get the stunning graphics and play the two new (to me) expansion packs.
There is one horrible flaw with the PS3 version and that is the sensitivity of the analog sticks. While games like Gran Turismo and even Little Big Planet utilize the precision fully, Oblivion has two movements: fast and slow. That is one step away from an on/off switch! While I can forgive the left stick (walking/running), the right stick (aiming/turning) is unusable.
I have tweaked the sensitivity endlessly: It's either a perfect shooter with sluggish hand-to-hand, or decent hand-to-hand and a sniper with Parkinson's disease. A PS3 game should offer both. No questions asked. Tilt a little, aim well - tilt a lot, counter that guard's sword. I am appalled that a game this nice played on a system this advanced is crippled by something so base.
This game is simply unplayable without a mouse.

Value and fun-wise, Oblivion is the best game that ever was!Nov 02, 2009 A big claim you say? I don't think so. I thought about it thoroughly and there is no question that Oblivion is the best game that ever existed. Engaging story line, diverse characters, a world of options but it never seems to be overwhelming. If you like simplicity, you will find it (kill, smash, repeat) or if you want complexity (intricate politics, brotherhood of assassins, planned and complex thefts, alchemy, etc) you'll get it to.
Oblivion has some faults, of course, like "robotic characters", but the good far outshines the bad. This is a game like no other. It is a complex world and will want to explore it. I'm no fan of hardcore RPG's where every single thing needs to be specified with 1000's of options, but Oblivion somehow balances it all and delivers a smooth experience.
For the current price of the game, this simply can't be beat. Oblivion will give you over 100hrs (or even more) of surreal game playing. No other game even comes close.
The best game ever, in my humble opinion.

AwesomeNov 01, 2009 This game is better than i thought, all i really wanted was to get oblivion, and then when i beat the game i would get the expansions. Well i found out that this one already has them in it, it has Shivering Iles and the nine. Definitely better than i thought. good product
Great RPG - Boring CombatOct 30, 2009 This is a great RPG is you really do like roleplaying. My only problem with it is the combat. It is extremely boring compared to just about any other RPG type game I've played (really just Final Fantasy, Everquest and World of Warcraft). Due to limited attack options, you generally just do the same few things over and over. It is possible this changes must later in the game, but I wasn't able to play for more than 10 hours before I got too bored and gave up. Combat seemed to be mostly one-on-one which I also found boring.
