 My new favorite gameNov 16, 2009
I'm inclined to say it's my favorite game ever...I love the fire emblem series, Civilization, Final Fantasy series, but this beats them all in my opinion.
Great story, characters, gameplay, music. It is not difficult the first time through so the pacing works perfect. I thought the artistic style worked perfectly. The book mode worked perfect.
Only downsides I saw were a few cheesy dialogues and the AI was fairly dumb (at least in the first run through...maybe better in the harder mode). These didn't take away from the fun of the game though.

This game is amazing in that everytime you play it, it's different than the last time you played it. Of course you must excuse me, on the battlefield it is different every time! This is a good ol' RPG like all the others, but it is made so well and so different. It's good to have some difference but still have a great RPG story line! Valkyria will be in my PS3 for ever until they make a new one. Loved the battle play, loved the not so cheezy store line unlike most rpg's! Thank you Sega for making your second best game in history, behind sonic for the sega genesis!

This game gets way too much credit for being a "good" game--I don't understand it.
IMHO, the game play was severely lacking for a PS3 game. If the game was released 5-10 years ago, then I would say the game play was decent. It is very linear, very basic and very repetitive. The story line and characters were just 'ok'. The graphics were 'average'.
I love RPGs and the reviews here on Amazon for the game are great, but I found myself bored with this game and confuse why, apparently, people like this game. I think of this game as being on the same level as a PS1 game. Sorry, but a 2 out of 5 stars rating is fair.

this is the most boring game i have ever played in my life, i find it more interesting to watch grass grow, i was shocked to see it has a 5 star rating, there must be alot of stupid people that played it and gave it such high scores
